Is there any way to edit the length of an animation?
FaceFx often adds a bunch of empty frames at the end.
For instance, in one file I'm working on, the phonemes and animation end at frame 46, but the animation is 71 frames in length, with just blank space from frames 47 to 71.
The audio clip itself is 1.53 seconds or 46 frames long at 30 fps.
I've tried setting the Maximum extent to 46, but when I save and reload the actor, in either FaceFx or Max, the animation length is still 71 frames.
Thanks for any help.
Hi dwike,
Are you sure the frames are empty? My initial guess would be that there is a blink or something out at frame 71 that is keeping the animation that long.
In FaceFX, the animation length is determined by the first and last keys for all curves. Perhaps there is a curve that you are not using that is giving the animation its duration.
You could just delete the offending curve, but I'm interested in figuring it out so we can fix it. It's an issue in the analysis actor.

Thanks for the reply.
Your response contained a few bits of info that clued me in to what was happening.
I looked more closely at the curves and saw there were several heading into the empty space frames between 46 and 71 that weren't even hooked up to any nodes on the model - things like Eye Pitch, Head Roll, etc. I guess those curves get added when you use the "Default" Analysis Actor File, even if they are not animating anything.
Once I set that to "None", the curves didn't get added and the animation was created at the correct length of 46 frames.
Thanks again!
