Confidence Scores

Confidence scores allow the user to see how “confident” FaceFX is in a particular phoneme’s alignment.   You can turn on confidence score visualization in the Tools->Phoneme Bar Option menu.  Confidence are also exposed to python and they are stored in the phoneme-word list.

Confidence scores don’t enable FaceFX to do a better job on poorly analyzed files, but they can alert you to a potential problem, for example when you have text that does not match the audio.  For example, the Batch Summarizer python plugin uses confidence scores to bring your attention to the files that analyzed the “worst” in a large batch.  When you analyze thousands of files, finding a mistake in the text can be like finding a needle in a haystack without confidence scores!
